Dr Sekai Nzenza is the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare for the Zimbabwe Government. She trained as a nurse in Zimbabwe and London before moving to Australia where she studied at the University of Melbourne and graduated with a PhD in International Relations. After several years working in development and relief programs in Australia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Sri Lanka and the United States, Dr Nzenza returned to Zimbabwe 8 years ago. Upon her return the village where she was born, Sekai started the Simukai Project, a community based organization focusing on microenterprise development, preventive health and education using minimum resources to achieve maximum benefits to the community. Until recently, Sekai Nzenza wrote a popular column as a social and cultural critic in Zimbabwe´s main newspaper, The Herald. In September 2018, she was appointed to cabinet at the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.
